Dh thinks it's a boys name too and that's what he wanted to use for DS, but I said no. I think it's pretty unisex. I don't really like the name though.

I've only ever known of 2 skylers: one was a boy, the other was named skylar raine and her mom was a drug addict and left her as an infant. It's definitely NMS at all... but I enjoy more classic names (my DD is Charlotte).
I am pretty sure it is a unisex name. DH & I had considered that name when we were planning on what to name our future kiddos. We had it picked out for a boy.
I personally know a 20-something male named "Skylarh" and a one year old girl named "Skylar". When my friend named her baby girl Skylar my first instinct was that it's a boys name. I still feel this way, although I think it's a very feminine sounding/ trendy sort of name for a boy... NMS at all
I know two Skylars, one is a boy, the other a girl. The boy always seemed to think his name was a little girly though. The girl was always called Sky for short.
Re: Skylar- what do you think?
Skylar can be either (warning: it's a trend name) and I don't like it
Schuyler is the original spelling and it's only for boys. Still, I don't like it
Skye is for girls.
Lost Lilah (Audra's twin) at 26 weeks. Cause unknown. Forever in our hearts
The name is really nms either way
But I would definately say it?s a boy name (and that it should be spelled as Skyler)
My niece is Skyler, and I think it sounds like what she is-the daughter of teenage parents.

DD is Schuyler nn Sky
It's pronounced Sky-ler ( sch- is pronounced the same as in schedule, school, scheme...)
Yes it's traditionally a boy's name, but I vastly prefer the original spelling for either gender than the trendier/trashier Skylar/Skyler
It's gotten mixed reviews, but I don't really care. We love it and hope DD will too. We call her Sky most of the time and it totally suits her.
Rachel Zoe just named her son Skylar, don't know if that would make anyone like it more or less though
I like the name alot my friend who is also pregnant is naming her little boy spelled Skyler.
but i do think this is a unisex name and i like it either way, but i would use it as a boy name if i had to choose!
