Our last name is O'Callahan....and we like Katherine as a MN but my best friend is Molly Katherine, and as much as I love her, it would just be weird.   Need something that flows nicely with our long(ish) last name.  TIA!

Oh and DD is Brenna Elizabeth.

Did you know that Molly is a traditional nickname for Mary? This could easily solve your problem: 

I would name her Mary Katherine, and use the nickname Molly. Then she will also have the option of the more "grown up" sounding (IMO) Mary when she is older. BONUS: she has the option of Polly (another traditional nickname for Mary) if she goes through an identity crisis in junior high.
