I advertised to babysit, and I am hoping to transition to a SAHM in June. I got my first phone call today, and I totally blanked. I picked up the phone thinking it was going to be about my 10 year college reunion this Saturday since the area code was the same.
I hope I didn't blow it. She caught me totally off-guard. I wish I had asked her what ages the children are. What else should I have asked? The only thing we talked about was start date, cost and she asked if she could drop by when she is in town. (Apparently they are moving here.)
Re: Childcare information
I'd call her back and tell her you were caught off guard (the life of a mom, 5 different directions!) and say that you had some follow up questions so you could provide her with more information.
How old are the kids
what days/hours are care needed
food allergies/will you provide meals
set up a firm date for her to visit
is transportation involved
is she looking for a babysitter or more involved care such as teaching basics: ABCs, shapes, numbers, etc.
