"This is a pregnancy." (oh my gaaawd f/u)

My OB took one look at the zip lock baggie and said "This is a pregnancy". Excuse me? Not possible. She said that this is definitely a pregnancy and asked when was the first time we had sex. I told her it isn't possible since it was May 1. She agreed not possible which means that it was leftover from my PG with DS.

 

That was in there for over 3 months?!  Oh my gaawd . Apparently, though, it can happen with a c-section since your uterus has to be manually scooped out. here is to hoping that there is nothing else in there otherwise I'll have to have a D&C.

I'm confused.  It was something left over from when you gave birth that just never came out?  Why would they have to do a D&C...in case there is still some left in there?  Fascinating!

She is thinking that it was something that was left over from my pregnancy with DS and if I have any signs of symptoms that something is still in there then I need the D&C to clean out my uterus.

She is sending it to the lab to have it checked out though.

I kinda figure you were correct but I really didn't want to think that I have had baby junk left over in me for over 3 months.

Why would she call it a pregnancy if it was just leftover placenta?  "This is a pregnancy" sounds to me like it's a whole other baby.  Seems to me like she should have said, "This is leftover placenta."    Yowza, what a crazy experience!

This was my first thought.

 I've never heard of this. It is interesting to know though. I hope that was all that was left. I'd be freaked out as well.

Because it was pregnancy tissue so it looked like a miscarriage. When she saw it I think it shocked her and she said "this is a pregnancy". After that is when she asked the earliest time I had sex was, that is how we came to the deduction that it was leftover from my PG with DS and could not possible be a new pregnancy.

This happened to me too with ds1, but mine didn't come out on it's own so I had to get a d&c. Hopefully the bleeding stops now...finally!
