Northern California Babies

Am I losing my mind?!?! (vent ahead)

So, I swear this baby is taking over my brain and emotions.

The other day I was pulling into our garage and BOOM, hit the passenger side mirror on the side of the garage. My brain was so worried about where my daughter was in regards to where the car was (she gets out first, then I pull in, very tight fit) that I didn't even pay attention to the wall.

Last night dh decides he isn't coming home on time but doesn't tell me. Instead he just shows up 40 minutes late. We live 1.8 miles from work, I'm pretty sure he didn't hit traffic. This has been a touchy subject for us for a while because he always stays at work, without even putting in for overtime. I extended my "don't get mad time" from 5:30 to now 6 (he should be off by 5:15 at the latest) but last night I don't see him until 6:40?!?! I calmly ask him if we can talk about it and he flips. I really don't understand how he can't text me or call me to let me know.

This morning, I am on my way to work and before I pull in to the parking area, I hit the little pole with my driver's side mirror!! Holy cow! Seriously?!?! Twice in less than a week?

I'm starting to think pregnancy head is kicking in....32 weeks I guess not too much longer to go but maybe I should stay off the road. Sad

If you read all of that you deserve a drink, but please drink something for me too

  • Sorry about hitting the mirrors. I agree with you, your DH should at least have the courtesy to tell you when he will be late. Hopefully you guys can work it out.

Uggg what a rough day.  On the DH front, I don't think you are at all being unreasonable to simply ask for a quick phone call or text if he's going to be later than you expect.  It sounds like he's got a weird control issue about it and it's his little way of "rebelling", maybe a calm talk about what the root of his issue is would be good.

I think you are totally right actually because if I am even a little late, he calls. On a similar note, if I call or text he won't return the call or text immediately and sometimes not at all but his expectations are different for me. Strange.
