NBR: Meal Delivery Services?

As a lot of you saw on FB, my in-laws house caught fire Monday evening.  Luckily it wasn't completely destroyed and my FIL wasn't injured too badly (just some burns to his hand mostly), but they are going to be out of their house probably living in an apartment or hotel until the damage can be fixed and the house cleaned out.

I was trying to think of something nice to do for them to help out since they have a lot going on and was thinking it would be nice to have some freezer type meals delivered.  I would cook them myself, but they live in Spokane ...has anyone used any meal delivery services or have any recommendations on where to look?? I found a couple online, but I don't know if they are any good.  TIA ladies!!

  • I dont think they deliver but Dinners Ready will make and prepare them and prepackage them ready for pickup. You pay online so you could do all the ordering and paying and your parents would just need to go pick it up.

  • First off, I'm very sorry for your IL's.  I know how awful that is.  It is very nice of you to want to help them.

Second, Keep in mind that many hotels do not have full kitchens.  When we were out for our fire, we had a hotel room with a "kitchenette," but it really was just an extra sink, some cupboards, a microwave and a small refrigerator.  We wouldn't have been able to use those frozen dinners.  So, just make sure they have some way to store and heat them before ordering them.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

Thanks! They are hoping to get their insurance company to rent an apartment for them during the rebuilding process since they have a dog as well.  So if that's what they end up doing the frozen meal thing will work, otherwise I will have to go a different route (maybe just some restaurant g.c's)

I thought about paging you and asking what you would've liked (or what you did receive from people) when you had the fire at your place - any thoughts? Is food a good idea or would something else be better?

  • www.SavoryMoment.com delivers.  (and I like the food)

Hope things get back to normal as quick as possible.
