I just found out I am PG last week and the kiddos will be 18 months apart. So far everything I've read about preparing the older sibling for the new baby applies to kids who actually understand what the heck you're saying to them.
Any advice, articles, books, etc on how to prepare, introduce the new baby, etc when they're so young?
Thanks!
Re: how to prep older kid?
We got ds a doll. He doesnt understand that he is going to have a sister, but he does understand, feed the baby its bottle, the bottle is for the baby and sippy cups are for big boys (because he uses sippy cups and tries to put the doll bottle in his mouth). He also understands be nice to the baby, give baby kisses, the baby is going to sit here and watch us play and that the baby is "sleeping" when it lays down the eyes close.
I think it is just more about introducing the concept of a baby and words that might come along with the baby.
