i like them but i think they run small. ds is not chunky at all and they're too tight on his legs. so on smaller babies i think they would work great. average+ babies, not so much.
ETA: i bought them a few months ago for ds but like i said they're too small for him, but i have high hopes for them fitting a newborn/young baby well, so we'll use them for dd and see how it goes. but quality wise and price wise i really like them.

I use the stay dry covers and they work just like my wonder wraps and econobum covers I have. I was thinking of buying a few more just have not done it yet.
I have a pocket (I think heavy duty?) and I really like it except that te laundry tabs suck so the one Kawaii diaper I have is always connected to another diaper in the wash

I have to disagree, but maybe it's just the type of kawaii I have. I have the one-size pockets, and they are HUGE. LO is 8lbs 10 oz as of yesterday, and these are nowhere near fitting her. They definitely would not have worked a month ago when she was born.
Not saying this to be snarky but just to make sure you know that kawaiis might not fit a newborn or a small baby, at least the one-size kawaiis.
I bough OS minkies when DS was born they are my go to diapers still DC also uses them first. We also have a dozen of the heavy wetters they were not the same quality but we bough them last summer. (about 9 months after the others) and found that they fit much smaller/tighter and the velcro sucks but the snap ones are great.

Told IVF is the only option and have not found a clinic that will take me.
I haven't used the covers. I do have three Kawaii pockets. Two of the pockets are the Heavy Duty with aplix, and my third one is a camo print pocket with snaps. I now like them a lot. However, it took a while for my little guy to fit into the heavy duty diapers with the aplix. He is now 4 months old and a little over 16 pounds and they just recently started to fit well. Those pockets run pretty big.
The camo diaper fit a lot sooner, and is super cute, I love all of the cute prints that Kawaii have, and the quality of diaper you get for the price.
