Who is from the Bay Area again?

Looks like we are probably moving to somewhere near Palo Alto. Who were the mama's who have lived there? We thought we might move to Austin but now it's the Bay Area. I am less than thrilled but making the most of it. At least it's not as hot. We are going this weekend to check it out and look at neighborhoods - any former bay area mamas who can tell me where I might focus my search for preschools/elementary schools would be helpful.  Is the Bay Area Bump Board nice? I might ping them.

I lived there. About 20 minutes north of Palo Alto. The Northern California board is nice. I am still friends with a handful. Craigslist is a good place to start get a feel for prices. In general the best neighborhoods in the area are always going to be west of El Camino Real. Be prepared to live very simply because the cost of living makes Mercer Island look normal and in some cases cheap. All the really good preschools are going to have a waiting list a mile long but there are some good ones that are tucked away. If you have specific questions you can just private message me.
