Bradley Classes

Have any of you taken Bradley classes? I am interested in taking a "natural" birthing class, but don't know where I could take them. I found a few links for Bradley classes, but it seems that these are just couples offering them in their homes, and that kind of freaks me out with out any referals.

I am located in the south metro, but would be willing to drive a little.

My husband and I took the Bradley Method courses and it is at a person's home, but you are with other couples, so it is not like it is only you and the home's owners. It was actually a lot of fun and very informative. We got to know each other better and quicker and it was interesting practicing all of the techniques together. (Well, you're practicing them with your DH, since he is the one being "trained" as your labor coach/helper, with the other couples in the same space.) I promise it's not as creepy as it seems!

I'd highly recommend the Bradley Method courses because of the broad range of techniques you learn. It isn't just limited to one style, like some of the others out there.

Have you considered Hypnobabies?  The founder of it actually used to teach Bradley before she went on to create this amazing program.  I did it with my 2nd and had a really extraordinary birth, so now I teach it because women need to know that it's possible to have births like this.  I had a midwife going through the instructor training with me who said she went to a birth and couldn't tell when mom was having a contraction and not because she was so relaxed!.  Anyway... anyone interested can find the contact info of local instructors via Hypnobabies.com website.  There is also a home-study option if you can't make it to a class.

also not taught in instructor's home, but I wouldn't shy away from Bradley if the program resonates with you just because of that :-)
