Has anyone else had a problem with skin boils?

I've been getting them on my upper thighs after I shave and in my pubic region after i shave!! I showed my ob and he isn't concerned at all and says its just where my clothes rub? However, I'm worried that it may be a bacteria infection or something!! Anyone else?

I think it is probably ingrown hairs not boils. Try (not sure if this is safe for pregnancy though) Tend Skin. It works like a charm. :)

  • I agree, this does sound like ingrown hairs.  I have never heard of Tend Skin so I went to their website.  The stuff sounds great, but it does say on their website that it has not been tested for use during pregnancy.  Thanks for the suggestion though, my husband gets razor bumps so this might be good for him.

I would go with ingrown hair also.  I have gotten them occasionally throughout the years.  My last one was in November...it was nasty.  My hubby ended up 'poping' it.  Not sure if that is advisable - but it worked.  It was hilarious...he had been drinking and was playing doctor - thank God no one was there to watch because it was a site to see with him between my legs with a sterile needle and peroxide.  It was a little painful but it felt so much better when it was out and clean
  • Sounds like it could be ingrown hairs or abcesses.. I had them most of my life on my upper inner thighs and my docs always say its no big deal I have an overactive something thats there and it causes them...n

now if they are abcesses and not ingrown hairs you have to just watch them, dont let them get too big, Ive had to get several lanced over the years, and one time had one so bad it was the size of a small orange inside and had to be completly drained and cleaned out to prevent infection. Most of the time you can "pop" them and drain them yourself no biggie, just becareful not to poke too much, if you puncture the inside then sometimes you can let the icky stuff into your system and thats the only time it can be a problem but it doesnt happen often.

Most of the time mine come and go, I have had alot more during pregnacy, but rub them occasionally and apply heat and sometimes they will jsut go away on their own! If a dr looks and said its fine I would say not to even think twice about them.

With the mention of shaving though its probably just ingrown hairs that will go away after heat or popping them.. shouldnt be too many worries!

  • I never had a problem with ingrown hairs until pregnancy.  Now I get them a lot, doctor said that everything checks out ok and it will go away.  I hope so!
