I went in to my family practice doc today for a sore ankle. Turns out that I have an appt for a podiatrist next week. He says I have flat feet, my ankles tend to roll in when I stand or walk. By running outside, this has made the problem worse and hurt more than inside on the treadmill.
They are talking possible physical therapy to stregthen my ankles (which have always been weak) or orthotics. So, we usually go shoeless in the house and I am wearing shoes with arch supports to see if it helps.
I have a 10k I was planning to run in a month, so it might be possible. I thought it would be out of the question due to my recent ankle issues.
