I had never even heard of such a thing until I bought a pre-made "fiddlehead fern fruit salad" from my gym today. It tasted like a mix of cucumber and lettuce to me, despite the fact that it looks like a snail.. LOL.
I would love to get some from the grocery store and try to make something with it, as it looks like it's only available for a few weeks a year. I was going to google some recipes but if you have one or know of a good way to fix it I'd love to hear it! TIA!

They are difficult to find and grocery stores. Try a farmers market. You can cook them any way you do most veggie - just don't eat the raw. My favorite way to eat them is sauteed with lemon, olive oil and red pepper flakes. Salt to taste. Other recpies...

We just bought some fiddleheads yesterday at our local farmer's market. We also bought some morel mushrooms so tonight we're making this recipe for fiddlehead fern and morel pasta.
