Flat Heads

What are you doing to prevent your LO's head from getting flat in the back? She is held OFTEN. We do tummy time but it never really lasts that long. I try to lay her on her sides but she gets irritated pretty quickly with that. The only place she's really content is in her swing. She sleeps in her RnP at night. But, I feel like the back of her head is getting flat. :(

Any suggestions?

Re: Flat Heads

  • I'm paranoid about that because of reports from RnP users that ended up with babies needing helmets because of their heads. (We use the RnP at night, too.) Thankfully our LO likes to be on her side, so I lay her down for naps (in her bouncy, her bassinet, or our bed) on her side as often as possible. I haven't noticed her head feeling flat yet, but I've been checking a LOT because I'm paranoid. ;)  I would ask your pediatrician to look at her head and see if it's really starting to get flat? If not, no worries...if so, maybe they can suggest something to prevent it from getting worse.
