Does anyone have a sit-n-stand stroller that they use with their preschooler? We were ready to purchase a Baby Trend Sit-n-Stand until I read today that the jump seat only accommodates up to 40lbs. My 3 year old is the height of a 5 year old and already weighs 42lbs.

Anyone know of any other options for me? We live in Orlando and have annual passes to all the area theme parks, and my oldest son is not quite old enough to walk all day without a break.
Re: Sit-n-Stand Strollers
*** shameful confession to follow ***
Our sit and stand is old. Like 8 yrs old? It was a hand me down from my BFF.
I'm sure it's not as nice as the ones out now.
I've sat on it on more than one occasion. Like as in used it for a seat at lunch or in a line somewhere.
Back then I weighed about 110?
Zero problems or sign of wear.
Here's my thought. Buy one. Try it.
You're talking about minimal use.
My bet is it will hold fine.
I think you'll notice it faltering long before it would put him in any danger.
If you're concerned about sinking major cash into it look into getting a used one on Craigslist.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Thank you for your input! We're leaning towards giving the sit 'n stand a go in spite of the weight limit. We figure that our 3 year old is over the size limit for our jogging stroller, but he still does fine in that. And you are right, it would be minimal use.
Thanks again!
My DD was almost 40 lbs at age 3 and we bought the joovy ultralight. However, at 4 I think she is only 42 lbs. She LOVES riding in it. I can't tell you how many people told us it was a waste and that a preschooler would not want to ride in it.
A few awesome examples that has made it a lifesaver...
The kids have lunch in it after preschool and I walk around the neighborhood
The amusement park and they are so exhausted - or we are trying to keep them together - or they are snacking on the way
Halloween - it was freezing cold and getting dark fast - we practically jogged driveway to driveway (we live in a very neighborly development), and DD hopped off at each driveway
The mall, which is huge - and sometimes I just want the 2 kids strapped in - or a busy parking lot - etc
Love my Joovy
Plus the Sit N Stand part gives the older kid the 'independence' of standing 'like a big kid' if they feel the need.

yes, I'd go w/ a Joovy too- much lighter than the Baby trend. My dd and her friend ride on the back often and that puts it at well over 60 lbs. I just found an ultralight on CL for $100!
