Cloth Diapering

Share your wipe solution recipe please!

I am finally getting around to making some wipes and I want to make a lightly scented baby tush friendly solution.  I haven't noticed that DD is particularly sensitive to anything yet (crossing my fingers she stays that way!)

  • I actually don't use anything fancy. I use baby washcloths (cheap!!) and run it under warm tap water. For a smelly hiney, I use one drop of CA Baby or EMAB. That's that.

  • I make a batch of solution out of plain tap water and a few drops of California Baby Super Sensitive baby wash (which I get at Whole Foods, but you can order online). Easy peasy!

  • I fill a spray bottle with water and add a drop of her CA Baby bath soap. We have the calendula scented one and it smells great!

ETA: We got it ours at Target but I know they also sell it at Babies' R Us

  • I make a cup of chamomile tea and add a teaspoon of honey. So easy and gentle on the skin. Honey has antibacterial properties.

  •  I put a small drop of Aveeno baby wash in a spray bottle full of water. Then I use that to spray right on his butt (he thinks it's funny).

Same here. I don't like wet wipes. They give me the heebie jeebies. I don't know why. I have a spray bottle at the changing table. I fill it up with water then add a drop or two (no more than a pea size amount) of CA baby body wash. I've used a bunch of different ones (Calendula cream, super sensitive, calming). They all work the same though I like the calendula one because DS has eczema. I spray directly onto his butt and wipe with a Target brand baby washcloth.

The spray bottle I have is an old Heiny Wash bottle. Get something like that or like a spritz bottle - not one of those heavy duty cleaning spray bottles. DS loves it when I spray it on his butt. He almost always giggles.
