Is Baby Trend the only DSNG?

I was looking at BRU online and I can't find another brand of DSNG.  It says you can use most brands of infant carseats, including the ones we have.  If you have this one, do you like it?  If you have a different one, which one and do you like that one?  I really want to get the Baby Jogger Mini but it can't hold two infant carseats so I'm thinking about getting a DSNG for the beginning until the babies are big enough to sit up a little bit and aren't ALWAYS sleeping in the carseats.

  • Kolcraft Contours Tandem

It's not as lightweight or compact as the "real" dsng, but it does hold 2 carseats and the bonus is that once they are out of the carriers you can pop the real seats in and continue to use the stroller.  If you're looking to save money I would check craigslist.

  • We started with the Baby Trend DSNG (purchased on Craig's List for $30) and now use both the DSNG and the City Mini. I thought the DSNG was a lifesaver in the early months. It was so easy to set up and snap the car seats in. It steers like crap (especially compared to the City Mini) but it was so useful in the early days. If I had to do it over again I'd buy the same strollers. I would suggest looking for the DSNG used since they are usually significantly cheaper and in really good shape.

I started with the BT DSNG and HATED it.  It was terrible to steer (wasn't very smooth at all and I was almost running into people at my crowded OB's office because of the force needed to get the thing moving).  My wonderful IL's bought us the Kolcraft a few months after the twins were born and the difference was night and day.  Obviously the Kolcraft is more expensive, but we used it as a DSNG for over 1 year (we were using the Snugride 35's) so it would've been worth it to buy it just for the easy steering anyway.  We're now using it as a regular tandem and I still love it.  There are 2 things I would change, I wish that the seats had snack trays, and I wish the wheels didn't come off so easily (don't know why, but the front wheels are removable and many times when I get it out of our van I end up accidentally taking one of the wheels off.

  • I honestly like our BT DSNG. I've never had a problem with it. The only thing I don't like is that it's hard to get into the bottom basket when both carseats are in it. It would be nice if it had some shock absorption, but overall it drives just fine for us. We took it to the zoo yesterday.

  • If you start off with the DSNG, better to get it used on CL as you're only going to need it for about 6-8 months anyways. I found one for $30 on my local CL. I now have the BJCS and my mom has the KContours. BJCS hands down is the better stroller.
