If you've gone on vacation w/o your LO's

Please tell me you were able to enjoy yourself.  DH surprised me for Mothers Day and planned a vacation for just the two of us.  He took care of all the details!!  I'm very excited and looking forward to going.  We leave early Monday morning and wont be home till late Thursday night.  I haven't been away from the boys longer than one night and I am a SAHM so I am with them all the time.  I'm feeling like tomorrow is gonna be tough because its my last day with them till Friday.  Like I said, I'm very excited about the trip and I'm sure once we get there I'll be fine and have a great time.  I just know how when DH is out of town, DS #1 is always asking for him.

You'll have a wonderful time! We go away for Memorial Day weekend without the kids every year and we went to Mexico for a week in Sept. It's great to get away, recharge, reconnect with DH, relax, etc. I miss the kids of course, but I love the time alone as a couple. Have fun!

I went to Vegas without DH and DD when my DD was 18 months old. I am also a SAHM and it was difficult as it was the first time I was away from her.

We went away when our youngest was about 20 months old.  We had a great time and I didn't really start missing them until the way home.  But then I REALLY missed them; I think I even got a bit teary.

I went to NYC with DH on a business trip without DD. I had a ball. I got to do everything I wanted to do and knew I could call and check on DD and talk to her anytime I wanted.

We go somewhere about 2x a year without the kids. MH and I love the alone time as we can really talk, do our own thing, etc. That's not to say that I don't miss the kiddos - I do and it's OK to miss them,. But I know when I'm gone they are having A BLAST with my parents.

HAVE FUN and enjoy this time alone.

It has taken me a day or two to get used to not having DD around but yes, it's possible to enjoy yourself. lol

We have a few times and honestly it depended on who was watching my kids.  The first weekend away my ILs watched the kids and I worried more, called more but still had fun.  The second trip was a week away and my parents watched the kids and my sister helped out some.  I was not worried at all and had a blast and never called (was out of the country).  I just trust my parents more, am more comfy with them alone with my kids for a longer period of time.
