Oh, what it must be like to be a man...

PLEASE tell me they're all like this & it's not just my DH.

I love the man dearly, but I swear he could not function without me.  Maybe not just me, but a woman in general.

Last week he jokingly tells me that one of his buddies at work has been calling him "johnny white socks."  I say, why?  He says because he's too lazy to look for tan dress socks in the morning & wears white ATHLETIC socks with khaki pants & dress shoes.  I CRINGE and make a mental note to put ONLY tan dress socks in his sock drawer.  All athletic socks are to be housed somewhere else from this point forward. (it's working so far...)

Today, my mom asks if DH has a duffel bag b/c she was thinking of getting him one for Christmas.  I say yes, (I mean -- the man travels for work 50% of the year...why would he NOT have a duffel bag!)  She says, oh -- because when he went on a day trip with so & so, they mentioned he packed his one change of clothes in a plastic Meijer bag...so they figured he didn't have a different bag to put his stuff in.

Good Lord.

  • dh has his white athletic socks in a different drawer than his work/dress socks. That might help J.
  • Mine does that too.  The socks thing drives me crazy.  I have them all separated out but he always just grabs the white ones.  He doesn't usually have to dress up for work, but it would still look better if he would wear tan socks with his khakis and shoes rather than white.  He's also taken clothes in a grocery bag before.  I'm working on it...hopefully one of these days it'll sink in!

MH wore white socks to my twin nephews baptism (we were godparents!). ?And, sometimes, he does pack his overnight clothes in a sack. ?Hello! ?My parents just bought him a nice travel bag!?

  • Oh, and if DH were going on a day trip somewhere and needed a change of clothes, he would more than likely just throw them in the car (w/o a bag). At least J uses a bag.

  • My dh can never match up his dress socks so he always wears mismatched one's & unfortunately for me he thinks it's hilarious!  He also buys black athletic socks & wears them all the time, with his white tennis shoes.  I can't stand it, also because I get black fuzz all over my beige carpet, it's gross!

  • That is something I can totally see my DH doing!

    They just don't think!

  • Mine isn't like that, but he does plenty of other dumb a$$ stuff to make up for it.  Wink
  • DH only wears dress socks.  He has three, yes three, pair of athletic socks he sometimes wears when he works out.

He does have luggage though.  He has this snowboarding duffle bag that he uses to pack everything in.  he never travels without it. He did let me use it for my hospital bag too.  It's actually really nice.
