Thanks for all the advice ladies!
I am attempting a SLS now and then plan to transition to Ferberish after he can figure out how to soothe- thanks for the tip SuperChicy! I thin I'll give you the play by plat b/c it helps me write it out and see the progress (hopefully!)
Last night I fed him and down for bed with just a little back rub at 7:30. Woke up at 9:30. I went in and stood by his crib and just kept laying him down every time he stood up or sat up. If he seemed to get extra worked up then I gave his belly a rub until he calmed down. He cried for an hour but finally fell asleep. Woke up again, as usual, at 2:30, this time he "only" cried for 30 minutues and stood up a lot less it felt like. Woke up again, as usual but a little later, at 6:30. Almost just decided to get him up for the day (he usually gets up anyways between 7:00 and 7:30) but figured I'd give it a try. Cried for 25 minutes and then feel asleep. Only slept for another 15 minutes but at least he fell asleep on his own.
Overall it wasn't too bad, really, compared to how it has been and at least I had a plan in place. And the ear plugs I wore helped me not get a headache Hopefully over the next few nights it will get better. I'll let you know.
