Parenting after a Loss

Cake PIP (mentioned yesterday)

Here's our anniversary cake.  Each year since our 1st wedding anniversary, we've ordered a wedding style cake to share.  (Of course, the  first year cake was the top of our actual wedding cake!)  We used a new baker this year; she is my former trainer at the gym.  Somehow baking and personal training just don't seem to go together!  The cake is 4 layers of chocolate cake with 3 layers of chocolate mousse filling and peanut butter frosting.  The photo is from our wedding, done on some kind of edible "paper."

  • What a cute idea!  And you're right about the trainer/baker combo...seems like an oxymoron to me :)

Speaking of wedding cake...we kept our top tier in my mom's freezer, and a few days before our 1 year anniversary I asked her where it was.  She said she couldn't find it and must've accidentally thrown it away :(  Well, a few days ago they decided to defrost and clean out her freezer, and lo and behold she found the cake! lol.  Now the question is, do we save it and eat it for our 2 year anniversary in August?? Hmmm... I think I like your idea of getting a new cake each year better!

I vote you eat the 1 year cake NOW... :-)  and then order a 2 year cake.
