Hi ladies. My DH and I are going to start trying 'for real' next month or so, and I've just recently come off of BCP (April). I wanted to become educated about fertility and try to make some kind of attempt to decipher my cycles.
I have been using the ClearBlue OPK (the kind with the smiley faces) and just got my first positive last night. Do you think it means I'm actually ovulating now, having just come off of the pill? Or do all women have an LH surge, regardless of whether or not they actually ovulate?
Thanks for putting up with my newbie question. ![]()
Re: OPK question
The positive OPK means your LH surge was detected and you should ovulate within 12-36 hours but it doesn't mean you will, you should read the book 'Taking charge of your Fertility' and also start BBT to really see if you're ovulating. The easiest online tool is fertilityfriend.com where you plug in your daily temps.
It's best to have sex 1 day before ovulation, the day of ovulation and the following 2 days for higher chance, keep in mind there is 20% chance of conceiving each month, good luck !
