No, he didn't give a reason but did say that some people are prone to boils and abscesses so this may be an ongoing battle. I am going to look into some alternative meds and see if I can find anything to help keep them at bay.
Aw poor thing! I used to know a teenager who frequently got them, and so did her dad and her grandma, so it makes sense to me that people might be genetically prone. Hopefully you can find something to help her!

I get boils occasionally, but it never occurred to me that it is connected to the fact that my dad gets them. He's a diabetic and injects his insulin directly into them and they're gone by the next day. His doctor doesn't believe that it works, but he's been doing it for 20+ years (he was diagnosed w/ Type 1 when he was 19). Silver lining, I guess.
