Did/Is anyone carrying low?

Everywhere i go people are telling me i look like i "dropped" or it "wont be long now, your really low..". It's completely freaking me OUT! I carried "low" with my son too so i dont know why but the comments are starting to get to me and making me nervous.

My most recent belly pic is from Easter which was just about 24 weeks. If someone could look at it can you please tell me if i look...abnormally low?

  • I think you look great! I don't think you look that low.

I have a coworker that has been telling me relentlessly that I look like I've dropped and am about to give birth any second (and saying it in all seriousness - when I say "probably not" she will tell me I've never given birth before and I have no idea) since 27 weeks.  I'm 32 today and holding strong.  Your doctor will start checking you soon and that is the most reliable way to tell, IMO.  I say now that if I had dropped and was about to deliver any day, I don't think my doctor would be letting me walk around and be at work at this point!

  • I am too. It's partly how they're situated in there - I have a head that is literally resting on my pubic bone and so my stomach juts out all the way down there. Tons of fun. :/ Not really. lol.

I did. I never had any issues with lung or stomach capacity. :D I also have a long torso, and I think that had something to do with it. I have pics in my bio, but I think this one really shows it:

(GAWD, i looked awful. this was less than two weeks before delivery)

(oh, and i always had a long and strong cervix, so i don't think the way you carry affects that.)

  • I *hated* when people told me that! Don't let them freak you out (easier said than done)!

I don't think you look abnormally low. If it helps, here is me at 20 weeks:

I went all the way to 37w3d without any trouble (well, no trouble from them being low, at least).

  • I've had people telling me that I'm carrying low for a couple of months. It freaked me out early on too :) Since this is my first pregnancy, I don't know any different. The babies heads are both down so I definitely feel a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen/pelvis.

  • I carried low as well and agree with pea-kay that the bonus was no lung or stomach issues.  The bad was that it was difficult to find pants that stayed up!
