1st bday party themes

I'm trying to plan a 1st birthday party for ds from a few states away.  I'm stumped at what to do for his birthday.  So far for ds1, I've already done jungle theme, fireman theme, and farm theme. 

Will you share your 1st birthday theme ideas?  (I'm mostly looking for a cake to make)  TIA!

We are doing Baby Mickey and I am actually making a mickey cake. I bought a 9 inch cake pan and 2 small ones. GL

Mickey and Minnie all the way. We are going to have breakfast with Mickey at Disney World, then go to downtown disney for her to pick a gift and go on the merry go round, then off to dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming....

Baseball....Hudson loves going to the games already (going to game #3 on Saturday).  We ordered his cakes at Sam's Club.  I have found some cute baseball buckets that the $$ zone at Target.

I'm doing the "Fun at One" theme.  The plates, napkins and banners will be theme-printed, but the tablecloths, balloons, cups will be primary colors, as not to overdo it.

The cake is the only thing I haven't figured out lol.  DH wants to order one from Cake Boss in Hoboken (show on TLC) b/c we are close to Hoboken, but I don't want to blow that much $$ on a dang cake.  We might do cupcakes.

Dinosaurs.  I'm making the cake but ordered a fondant dinosaur for the top and some fondant dinosaur eggs to put around it.

I did a dog theme for my son b/c he was obsessed with dogs at that time.  It's an easy theme to do - there is a ton of stuff out there.

At the time, I was thinking about what he might like.  Now I would do what I want the theme to be - b/c once they hit 2, you will NEVER get to choose your own theme again- they get very definite opinions about what they want.  This is your one chance to do a theme YOU really want -LOL.

We are doing a pool party with a lot of bright colors and a slightly luau undertone. Most of the stuff will be very colorful solids and patterns with a few luau type items.

We are doing a beach theme party. We don't have a pool, so we're having a beach ball sprinkler, wading pool, and slip n slide. Lots of beach balls and sand pails and umbrellas for decor.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've decided to do The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I'll just have to do a cupcake cake which will take me no time at all.  I'm also going to do a small cake for the head covered in fondant and a smash cake- the apple, since he eats through "1" apple, with a fondant caterpillar crawling out of it.  Hopefully it will turn out!
