Pregnant after IF

spotting and cramping after stopping Progesterone?

I tapered my Prometrium off last weekend, and stopped totally on Monday night, per my OB (RE said to stop at 9 weeks).

This morning I had some intermittant brown spotting and some mild cramps. They went away, but now are back. It's right in the center of my abdomen. Spotting is brown, not pink. I am still worried. Not enough to call the OB at this point but enough to ask if anyone had this and then it resolved and baby was ok?

I know ColleenS posted a week or two ago about spotting after stopping it..and ended up having a SCH. My OB has seen no evidence of a SCH or any blood in my uterus (I had a fair amount of spotting early on) on several u/s.

Any personal experiences?

No personal experience with this situation, but I'd give your OB a call anyway just to ease your mind. That's what they're there for!

  • Great memory Smile Once I restarted the progesterone, the spotting stopped so I don't know if I 100% believe that the spotting was from an SCH. FWIW though, I had an u/s with my RE a week before where they specifically looked for an SCH and didn't see one. I don't know if it was hiding or what. I don't think it would hurt to call the OB. GL.

I had cramping and a tiny bit of spotting after stopping Crinone.  I called because they told me to if I had any bleeding at all.  They had me come in that same day and did an U/S to make sure everything was ok.  I was glad I went and I was able to get a lot of questions answered.

Good luck! Keeping you in my T&P's.

thanks, guys! I called and my OB said it was probably normal, but finish off my Prometrium until 12 weeks (monday). I went in for a P4 level just now and they will have the results Monday.

    thanks for the support!
