Trying to Get Pregnant

Charting Dummy :)

So April was my first my first month with Provera, and clomid, and metformin. I did not chart it all happened rather quickly. Prior to April, I have NEVER charted before. DH and I were just TTC and then trying and trying and trying and nothing happend. So assuming (hopefully NOT!!!!!) that AF comes in May, how does charting work? And my 2nd question, does charting work the same way if I induce my period with provera?? I have pcos so i usually or let me say NEVER get my period on my own. But I ovulated in April so i might, right? Anyway.. I know i can and i have read on FF but i was hoping someone can sort of give me a real life explanation of how its done and how they do it????

thanks in advance for the help!?!? :)

Re: Charting Dummy :)

  • Basically, you just take your temperature at the same time every morning as soon as you wake up and before you get out of bed with a basal body thermometer (you can buy one at wal-mart or any drugstore). You record the temps on your chart along with the type of cervical mucus you have (you can read the descriptions on FF). Start charting on day one of your period (first day of red blood), whether it starts by itself or not.

  • It seems so much simpler said like that, than on FF lol.. Thank YOU!!!!!
  • But how will I know how long my cycle is? Is it from CD1 to O? or Does when my next AF come have anything to do with it? Because if I don't get my AF and I have to go back to the doc to get provera, won't that mess  up the charting of everything, or do i just have it all wrong???
  • Your cycle starts on CD1 (the first day of your period.) It ends when your period starts again (or technically, the day before your period starts, since the day it starts would be CD1 of the next cycle). So the length of your cycle is the time between one period and the next.

  • gotcha! But the fact that I don't get my period on it's own and I have to go to my doc and get provera, it could be that cycle is an obsene amount of time??? Do i have that part right? All that time in between is still considered part of the cycle obviously right? sorry for the 20 questions.. :(

Yes. Say your last day of AF was March 1st. You are still on that same cycle (even though it's been a long time) until you get AF again, so going with my made up situation, say you got Provera and started AF again May 7th. May 6th would be the last day of your cycle, making May 7th CD1 again.

Being on Clomid, I would hope your Dr is monitoring you and helping you figure out your cycles.

My last cycle was 55 days...I understand how stressful it is :(

    Good luck!
