Our child will have a primary care manager assigned to her once she's enrolled in Tricare, so we don't do any interviewing. If we were civilian (or tricare standard) I would probably be doing my interviewing about now.
I asked my OB who he recommended (just to have a name to start with). This practice has an open house once a month so I went to that. Luckily I LOVE them and have chosen them but I dont think it is too early to start interviewing or asking around. My newly chosen pediatrician's office was really helpful with providing information for me and they offer a lactation consultant for free through their practice which I love. Good luck!
We aren't interviewing any. We got numerous recommendations for the same practice/doctor, so we will be going with that one.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
We were going to interview pediatricians, but when I made a few phone calls the other day we made our decisions without any interviews. Only one office seemed awesome over the phone, and we have a few really good parent reviews from our neighborhood for them.
That said, the office we are going with was the only office that offered interviews with a pediatrician.

This. Also I asked my OB yesterday and she said that the practice I beleive we are going to go with is a great choice as she has worked with them through our hospital. She said it's more important to pick through word of mouth/recommendations than 'interviewing' them. You might think you like one after talking with them for five minutes, but in the end they are not what/who you thought they were. However friends with children are going to be straight with you about their choice.

This thread had a few responses regarding pediatrician vs family practice doctor and how people chose. https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/52804427.aspx

Thanks. I was actually only planning on interviewing pediatricians who were recommended to me by people I know.
I still think its important to interview them regardless of how highly recommended they are.
