Witch Hazel and Dermoplast

The nurses in the hospital gave me witch hazel pads and dermoplast for down there, but didn't think to use it because I'm fearful of putting anything down there but soap and water.  I'm just scared that it would cause an infection or make me irritated.  

Has anyone used either?  If so, how did you use the pads? Did it help any? Pls share :-)

Yep - I used both, except the witch hazel was just in a bottle. I mixed some with warm water in a squeeze bottle and rinsed down there every time I went to the bathroom. Didn't hurt at all.

I've used both, and they were a life saver.  The witch hazel pads were cool and comforting, and helped after I walked and overdid it.  The Dermoplast helped my stitches more than anything else.  Neither of them have caused me any infection. I would go ahead and use them.

I'm scared! LOL! I just have been using the squirt bottle with warm water when I use the bathroom.  Maybe I'll try one tomorrow.  I did some minor shopping today, but think I may have over did it since I'm kind of sore down there.

The witch hazel irritated me, so although it was nice and cooling I stopped using them. I'm still using the dermoplast, I don't apply it directly on my vag, I just smear a little on my pad. And Im still using the squirt bottle every time I use the bathroom.

squirt bottle, tucks sometimes left on for 20 minutes, dermoplast, and prescription hemorrhoid cream. it's been a week and i had a 3rd degree tear and i already feel pretty much healed! good luck

Yep--used both.  I am still using the witch hazel (Tucks) pads every time I go to the bathroom because my stiches still burn when I pee.

OMG I would've been so miserable without those PP...but I didn't take any of their good drugs either afterwards...which my doc thought I was crazy on that point alone. lol
