first day home question

It's our first day home. I just finally got baby to sleep soundly laying on my chest but it was a long time before she fell asleep after her last feeding which is unusual. is this common? im thinking maybe she is just adjusting to being in a new place since she has been in the nicu since she was born.

Congrats for bringing her home!  It will probably take a few days for her to be adjust to the new surroundings. Lots of new lights, sounds, etc.  Enjoy every second!

For us, we use a LOUD white machine.  We were told that preemies get so used to the noise of the NICU that they sometimes have trouble adjusting to it being quiet during the day.

Congrats on bringing your baby home! It will take a while for her to adjust to her new surroundings. Don't be suprised if she acts "off" for a few days.

Congrats on being home!  Annie had a tough time sleeping when we got home.  It took her a while to fall asleep and some nights she would sleep anywhere but on me.  Its gotten MUCH better, but it was definitely a transition for us.
