We're looking at the Bumbleride Indie Twin right now (obviously we only have one at this point). My son won't ride in a stroller that is reclined at all (he wants to sit up), so the Baby Jogger and the BOB double are out for us. I've read a lot of reviews, and this seems to have everything we want.
We have Phil and Teds Explorer with the double kit. We really like it. Wish we would have bought the Phil and Teds as a single when we just had our ds.
We bought the 2010 version for $299 which is a great price for a double. It fits in the back of my Honda Civic perfect (and there's room for the weekly groceries), it fit through every door at the zoo and is a great stroller. We love it. We did buy the sunshine kids parent console and that helps out a lot.

Another vote for the Baby Jogger City Mini Double and the Sunshine Kids parent console! We love ours!

We just bought the Baby Jogger City Mini double for $299 (2010 version) and love it! We borrowed our friend's before we decided to buy it and DS loved it too. It's much lighter than our single stroller and fits in our car perfectly.
we have a phil and ted .. have had it for almost 3 yrs now. still use it on ocassion. wish it would have been our first purchase with dd. the others in my top 3 were the bumbleride indietwin and the baby jogger city classic (which was much sturdier than the mini. I'm not a big fan of the mini... it was just coming out when we were testdriving doubles).
reason we picked the P&T... manhattan sidewalks, singe and double in one, my dd is/was tiny and still at age 5 rides in it on occasion.
if we lived elsewhere I may have opted for the baby jogger city classic over the bumbleride only b/c the fold was easier and not as bulky. all three were smooth rides. easy to steer. preferred the canopy to the bumbleride at the time. the fold of the baby jogger and the single to double narrow but not bus long option with the phil and ted.
do your research... find a store with your top wishes... test drive them. makes a big difference. ; )
We just got a 2010 Baby Jogger City Select from my parents, with the second seat attachment. We had an Uppa Baby Vista, but the second seat attachment was a joke, and you could only position it one way, and the other kid's feet would be in the face of the kid in the second seat. I really wanted an inline stroller, as the side by side ones are too wide for most doors in our area. I also wanted one that could also be a single stroller easily in case my 16 month old decides he wants to walk, or if I push him and wear the newborn. Also I can get a car seat attachment for it, and configure it about a billion ways.

I had a City Select, but we are selling it and got a P&T Explorer instead. Here are the pros and cons as I see them, for each.
CS Pros:
It's cool and fun to use!
It does theoretically have more positions than the P&T (but in practice you can't use them all, depending on the age and size of your kids).
Both seats recline.
Basket is ginormous and can be fully utilized even with both kids in the stroller.
Second seat in front and extendable handle bar means you don't bang your knees on a seat while pushing.
Tires are foam-filled, so no flats!
CS Cons:
You really can't use all the seat configurations they advertise - kids' knees get banged or smushed, etc.
The foot rest is short and the seat back is short too, so taller kids are a bit scrunched up in the seat.
The second seat on the front makes the stroller a bit unwieldly to pop up on curbs, etc. Getting up and down stairs is REALLY challenging, so if you live in a walk-up, this is not the stroller to get.
P&T Pros:
It's really no bigger than a single, and adding the second seat does not make it harder to maneuver.
The second seat on the back means that the extra weight is on the back, which makes it easy to pop up on curbs, get up and down stairs, etc.
P&T Cons:
When the second kid is in the stroller, you can't use the basket.
You can't hang anything off the handlebar because it will hit the jumpseated kid in the head.
You can't recline the seats when both kids are in the stroller (jump seat doesn't recline at all).
If you are tall, you might bang your knees on the jump seat when you walk.
As it turned out, none of these cons outweighed the simple fact that the P&T is really easy to maneuver with two kids in it.
We have a Baby Jogger City Select and a BOB Duallie.
I love the BJCS for shopping trips because it is a tandem and much narrower than a side-by-side. It is very versatile and my kids love that they can look at each other . It is also one of the few tandems where both seats are the same weight capacity and with the stadium seating both babies can see out.
I love the Duallie for walks and runs around my neighborhood. It has a great push and is easy to maneuver. However, I would NEVER take it anywhere that was indoors. I already take it once per week to the library (I walk) and it barely fits through the door. It is an ordeal every week to get it inside.

We have the Bumbleride Indie Twin and LOVE it. I also had the UppaBaby Vista with a rumble seat but sold it on Craigslist because I HATED it. Now I'm trying to decide if I need a tandem or not, but so far don't feel the need to get one.
We have the UppaBaby Vista and Rumble seat, and LOVE it. Our LOs are 13 months apart, and it has been perfect for us so far. Totally disagree that the rumble seat is a joke, but to each her own.

Mine are 17 months apart and we have the Britax B ready and LOVE it! We went to Disney this weekend and it was perfect
Here's DD sleeping in the back (she's 22 months and big, about 32 lbs); she had PLENTY of room, even with all the crap we brought in the basket
Here is a side view...notice my spoiled children each had a fan, LOL

me too. It's so easy to maneuver with one hand. And I haven't met a single doorway I can't fit through.
we have a double bob.....
