Here are some baby name options

if you want to be like Mariah Carey

https://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2011/05/04/mariah-carey-and-nick-cannon-reveal-baby-names/

Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have finally revealed the names of their twins who were born in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Their son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon, with the nickname "Roc". Scott is Nick?s middle name, as well as his grandmother?s maiden name.

The top tier of Mariah?s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor. It?s also the place where Nick proposed to his wife, overlooking Manhattan!

Their daughter?s name is Monroe Cannon. Mariah's rep says she does not have a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one. Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Mariah her whole life.

In fact, Mariah purchased the Hollywood icon?s white piano from Christie's auction house and it is in Mariah?s will that the piano will one day go to the Smithsonian.

Mariah?s rep, Cindi Berger, tells CNN, ?It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn?t be happier for all of them.?

  • Roc N Monroe sounds an awful lot like Rock N Roll!

  • You know, I would never have chosen them but compared to some celebrity names I actually don't think they're that bad.  At least they're not named after fruit. :)~

  • I actualy really like Monroe!  More for a boy and would love it as a middle name, but I don't think that name is horrible.

For me it's Moroccan that gets this face Indifferent. The nickname "Roc" is okay I suppose. I kind of like Monroe.

I also thought Monroe would be cute for a boy.

Not really in love with Moroccan though. But like cwhip said, it could have been a lot worse. Like Pilot Inspektor, that's a name I give the Hmm to.

  • Yuck.  Monroe is okay I guess, but Moroccan?  Blech.
  • Eh. Not my style. But not hideous. Way better than Apple.

  • Maybe it's supposed to be pronounced "Mo' Rockin"

  • "Interesting" was my first thought.

  • I guess it's nice that each child has their own name story, but what I don't particularly like is that 1) Monroe is a long-standing boys name and 2) they chose Moroccan, as in the decorating style and not Morocco the country. After baby Egypt, I don't know that any country is off-limits to celebrities these days (although I would expect for the namer to have at least visited the country). Rocco is a fine Italian name and is nestled in Morocco, but Moroccan? I can't get behind it. I'm glad to hear they chose a grounded middle name, and it's nice that it honors both sides of the family. As for Monroe, I actually suspect this will be a trend in the footsteps of Harlow. Personally, I prefer Marilyn and again, there's the issue of Monroe being a boys name or a surname. Sadly, I see a bunch of baby girl Monroes in the future. :(
