Sawyer; Wdyt?

We are naming our son Sawyer, it was mygrandmother's maiden name? Would like some feed back on how do you think it sounds? Thanks!

    Of course my first thought is the character on Lost.  I don't hate it, but I also personally am a little tired of surnames for first names, since it's such a huge trend right now.  But it's not the worst I've heard.

    It's okay. Kind of trendy, but I like that it is more than that for you and you are naming him after your g-ma

    I feel a bit of a Catch-22 with this name:  It does seem to be getting pretty trendy.  But if it wasn't so popular, I think it might be just a little "out there" for a FN.  

    But I do like your family significance, & I'm someone who likes the way certain surnames sound as FNs--& I do like this one.  :)

    My DSs name is Sawyer and we love it. DS is SUCH a Sawyer, kwim?  It's not a popular name at all where I am. Neither DH or I ever watched Lost, so it wasn't inspired at all from that, but after he was born a few people asked if we were fans. Didn't bother us; now anyone that knows us/DS doesn't make that association.
