So it is my turn for snack for soccer this week. We are the only new ones to the team so I'm wishing I would have signed up for later in the season to better get a guage on things.
The coach brings a half time snack which so far has been oranges/watermelon which is GREAT! Afterwards though, the parents do their "snack" which so far has been sponge bob fruit snacks, rice krispie snacks (prepackaged), and single serving mini oreos. To me those are more of a dessert, not a snack.
I am responsible for the next two games so what should I bring? I was thinking I would make homemade chex mix and add a few dark choc m & ms but I'm stumped on a second.
ETA: I asked and it doesn't have to prepackaged. There are no other allergies other than Eli's milk allergy.
Re: Need help with a healthyish soccer snack!
trail mix, apples or celery or crackers with peanutbutter (if no allergies), pita chips and hummus, granola bars, whole wheat fruit muffins, fig newtons.
does it have to be pre-packaged?
Good ? on the prepackaged (EFCE will not let us bring anything that we've had to prepare, although it does have to be healthy, so basic fruit, etc)
You could do popcorn, ants on a log (the celery, pb, raisin thing), healthy muffins, cheese, trail mix. I might double check any nut allergies if stuff like that hasn't been brought before.
Thanks, ladies. All GREAT ideas, and I really appreciate it. I"m thinking I'll do some combination of popcorn/chex/trail mix with the M & Ms and then fig newtons (esp since I think I can get prepackaged single servings because I think some parents are more comfortable with that. I'll probably read all of the ideas off to Eli actually and let him decide...he really loves being involved and is proud when we bring snacks/treats to things like this
