Trying to Get Pregnant

tell me about the implantation dip

I had a dip this morning, below the coverline.  I did wake up cold, but I don't think that's it b/c that hasn't made much difference in the past.  I'm 6 DPO.  FF says the dip is around .3 and usually occurs around 7/8 DPO.  I'm not stressing over the dip, I know we're watching for an all-over trend here.  But, I'm curious what others have experienced, have you had an implantation dip?  Did your chart look like mine...are you pregnant now...please tell me you answered yes to all of these questions and that I too will get a BFP.....anybody....Bueller, Bueller....?

6 DPO would be a bit early for an implantation dip.  I have had many random temp dips from 3-5 DPO.  I did a bit of research and found that it's actually quite normal to have 3-6 DPO temp dips, and they are due to a secondary estrogen surge which occurs to keep the corpus luteum functioning.

I'm not really sure if I had an implantation dip the one cycle I did get pregnant.

  • Could be an implantation dip but you will only know for sure after the fact based on whether you get a BFP this month or not. I also noticed FF marked it as an open circle...if you took your temp at a weird time it may just be an outlier.  You might have better luck posting this ? on the 1st tri boards because they all have BFP's and may have better insight. • Since many of us have never been pregnant our dips haven't been implantation dips.  This dip is really something you only realize in hindsight - if you're pg then yep, it was an implant dip.  if you're not, then nope it wasn't.  Don't get your hopes up over it, but GL!  You can ask the ladies in first tri if they got implantation dips... they get this question about once a week and always provide good answers.

  • Click on my ticker in my siggy and scroll down to my Feb. 24 cycle. I had a beautiful "implantation dip" at 7 DPO (it went down over .8 degrees and right back up the next day) ... and my period started four days later. According to FF, your estrogen rises a bit in the middle of your LP whether or not your are pregnant, so you could get a dip like that and not be pregnant. Sorry! I hope that yours really is an implantation dip, but try not to get your hopes up too much.

Thanks for all your repsonses ladies.  I also posted on 1st Tri like one of you suggested, and got some great feedback there too.  I didn't have dip w/ DD, so it was helpful to see what others had experienced.  Smile
