A friend of mine used this heating & air company, made a complaint to them about the service she received, and they emailed her the below link as their response. One can assume that if a company is willing to go to this length to scare former customers from filing a complaint against them, they must get a LOT of complaints. Complete insanity. Sure makes me want to avoid Mechanic's Heating & Air like the plague. This is BSC.
Things You Need To Know
Re: Pure craziness!
this needs to be on tv because this is pure hilariousness!
I have special 4 letter words for companies like this. If you friend wants to post an accurate account of her experience online, she is well within her rights to do so, assuming she didn't sign some sort of NDA. I don't practice in this area, but I wouldn't be surprised if this type of business practice violates a section of the UCC.
Also, let her know that slander and libel work both ways.
Finally, tell her to PLEASE send this link the Consumerist.com. They will shame the crap out of that company for doing something like this and provide great advice for handling this sitatuation.
That is crazy...are they allowed to publish all that personal info about her? I know it isn't that hard to find someone's email address or phone number but it seems like if they obtained it for business purposes they shouldn't be able to publish it.
Also, I hope they put as much time into customer service as customer scare tactics.
Um, the fact that she wrote them a complaint does not equal libel. It's not like she published a libelous review or was blogging about it or otherwise knowingly diseminating false information
Oh and that Court of Appeals case they cite 1) didn't even involve them or an online complaint and 2) is completely distingushable.

Oh my, that can't be for real. That is off the wall craziness.

OMG. They are effin crazy! I will never call them for service!
Insane. I would never give them business because they felt the need to make a page like that. It shows that they have poor service if they have that kind of need.
It is extra shady that none of their links go back to their original website. Oh, and the page is so poorly done you would think that they could hire a web designer to make it look nice with all their settlements. It is so sad that there are companies out there that do this instead of be honest with their customers.
