NPR: More travel-related stuff. Vent!

DH moves slower than a glacier when it comes to getting things done. First we had to wait for M's passport(despite the availability of travel insurance), then for him to talk to work, now he's dragging his feet settling on a hotel for the central London part of our trip. And we can't get flights until we find a hotel that we can afford and that takes kids.

I'd take care of it all myself and tell him about it afterward, but I think he'd kill me.

Hmph!

Like a glacier, I tell you!

  • Trade ya for a week.   My DH is so damnn analretentive that he has to have trips scheduled out months in advance.   Not necessarily buying airfare, but just knowing to the second what we're going to be doing!

Case in point--we're going to the Twin Cities for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend.  He's already bugging the crap outta me to decide what we'll be doing every.single.day we're there.  "Where do we want to have lunch on Thursday?"  "Are we going out to dinner with your friends on Friday?"   ARGH... man needs to chillax sometimes!

Now he's bugging me to call all of our friends who are also going to be there to find out when they're arriving, where they're staying, etc.  Geeze!

  • While both of those would drive me nuts, I have one who wants everything taken care of, each detail worked out in advance... by ME.  Invariably, once I make the arrangements, he questions every detail.  I'd be fine with taking care of it if he'd just leave it to me, and I would be fine with him doing it all himself, but OMG get OFF my back.

Yeah, we don't usually leave things this late, but we want to get there before summer and my best friend is going to be there on business so it just kind of snuck up on us. So now DH's whole family thinks we're coming, my best friend(who lives in India so we rarely see) thinks we're going to be there and DH is still like, "let's take some more time to check out hotels before we get our tix."

    BlaaaaaAAAAAaaaaa...

  • I have a DH that thinks that the magic travel fairy leaves everything under our pillows ready to go. Including the packing. Drives me nuts. But I probably make him crazy too - I make spreadsheets of who's got what and if it made it in the case, or if we have all our documents, etc. Because I'm blonde and I will forget, (esp with 5 kids), and not because I'm anal.

Yeah, I have one of those that expects me to do the planning, then questions every detail.  BUT, he has learned from my cold hard stare that if he thinks he can do better, he should do it himself.  On the last trip, which was down to Chicago, he was responsible for doing mapquest.  2 minutes before we went, he 's at the computer getting it ready.  Not acceptable in my book.

Stever, have fun on your trip!

Thanks! I'm sure if we actually get to go it'll be fab.
