Timing IUI after trigger

Just did my trigger shot and I'm scheduled to go in tomorrow for my IUI at 1pm. Everything I'm reading says IUI works best around 36 hours between trigger and procedure. Any input?

I sent you a privat message with details... but we did IUI 36 hours after the trigger shot as was successful last time.  This time we did the same (I'm 12dpIUI).

My doc is doing it 12 hours after the trigger.  He said the sperm live for a couple days anyway.  I'm sure it's fine.

I do 36 hours after trigger but my RE usually does 24 hours. I like to time it at 36 with MFI, but Chicago is right, the sperm should still be alive.

Did you have bloodwork done?  I have done the IUI about 12 hours after trigger both times because I was going to ovulate on my own since my LH was in the 20's. We didn't have time to wait any longer.  Both cycles failed.  No one seems to believe me that I O early and are always "shocked" when I come in for a u/s and they have to trigger me immediately....

I triggered the night before my IUI at around 6pm and then went in at 7am the next day and they finally did the IUI around  10.  So I guess that was around 16 hours.  My RE agree's with Chicago's in that the sperm live for a couple days so why not have them waiting for the egg.

All of my IUI's were exactly 36 hours post trigger, but I've heard anywhere from 12-42 hours post is normal.

Thanks for the input everyone! I've had some really awful doctors in the past so I end up researching everything on my own. Definitely going to ask about having sex later that night to see if we can up our chances any.

My RE says yes to this.

The only issue I had was the my cervix wouldn't open up, and it normally does if you are about to O.

I was also told to have sex the following day, but that might have just been because my body was uncooperative and I was really sore.

Yes! We were told to have sex that night and the next morning. At that point, any more sperm you can get up there, the better. It is not going to hurt anything. Just do not have sex the night before - usually no sex 2 days before IUI.

For some reason having to abstain before IUI makes me want to have sex even more. I guess it's my rebellious side coming out. Oh silly body.
