what are you doing for teacher appreciation week?

What are you giving/doing for your LO's teachers/DCPs this week? I'm having a hard time thinking of anything beyond gift cards.

  • I am taking in breakfast tomorrow for the ladies that work in J's room.

After work, I'm going to go to the store and get pineapple, watermelon, strawberries, grapes and blueberries and a container of OJ.

I'll cut the stuff up to make a nice big bowl of fresh fruit and put it in a Gladware container so I don't have to worry about getting it back.  In the morning I'm going to swing by Einstein Bagel and get a dozen w/ the cream cheese.

I did this last year and they loved it.  Plus, there is going to extras so they can share it with the other teachers and people in the office when they get done.

Oh yeah, I also got disposable plates and silverware and put that in the bag as well.

BH had a great idea about two weeks ago for some flower pots....

  • Loading the player...
  • ha! well, I'm telling my daycare that we are quitting :-(

(the new in-home daycare trial went great yesterday, so it looks like we're going to switch. honestly, I did get all teary last night about it...but I *think* we're making the right decision.)

    but I digress...

Warner's teachers are getting home-made cards and I'm bringing them each a loaf of banana bread that Warner helped make.

  • my friend and i go in together and we buy a sandwich platter from wegmans (it comes wiht a bag of chips and all the condiments) and we are baking cookies and brownies for them.  we did the same for christmas and they loved it.

also we take a picture of the kids and make a photo card for the teachers.

DD's preschool parents assign something to each day of the week - some of which everyone does, and others only a few sign up to do.  Like one day is "bring in a breakfast for the teachers," another is "bring in a picture or card your DC made," another is "bring in a flower or potted plant," etc.  Depending on how much you want to spend, you could do one big gift or a few little (especially homemade) things throughout the week.

What a clever idea! I'll have to suggest that idea next time. Def. takes the guessing game out of it!
