I'm traveling by airplane on Wednesday. The first flight is 1hr45min and the second flight is 2hr30min. My dr told me to make sure I get up every 45 minutes and walk around the airplane. She also told me to make sure I wear compression socks so I don't develop blood clots. The only place I could find the socks tonight was Walgreens. However, they are way too big for me, and I read online that they need to fit well to work.
So, for you ladies that have travelled by airplane, did you wear the compression socks? What did you do to reduce the risk of blood clots? Thanks!

Overnight them for $3.99.
Worth it!
Watch sizing as they run small!
Do you personally have these? If you don't mind, can you tell me what your shoe size is and which size hose did you get? Thanks!
I would probably only wear them for airplane travel if I was in my 3rd trimester. I traveled across the country (Oregon to Florida) at about 20 wks with my first pregnancy and I did not wear hose. I got up and walked the length of the plane at least every 45 mins and I did calf exercises, flexing and extending my foot, while sitting every so often. I had absolutely no problems with swelling during or after the flight. I am traveling next week west coast to east coast again and I will not be wearing any compression hose. My OB said they were not necessary, just to get up and walk frequently.
