Wool Experts re: WCW fit ?

I just got a large soaker in the mail today. I measured LO before I bought it and she fit the large sizing except for the rise, which I didn't measure mostly because I wasn't exactly sure how.  Anyway I tried the soaker on her over her flip cover, the legs seem fine, but I can pull it up to her chest!  I was going to just fold it down but will that effect how it works at all?  And exactly how tight should the legs be so that they don't leak? There are no gaps but it's not very snug either.

  • Sounds like you need a medium!

I don't really know the answers to your questions...but my DD is BIG and we just got a large today.  I have not tried it on her yet, but I am pretty sure it will be better than the medium.  That said, our medium fits her perfectly everywhere except in rise at night (which is when I use it a lot).  The wool is VERY stretchy, so I think the medium will fit her for a long while, but the rise will be too short.....she is very long though.

I think for the soakers to work properly you want a snug fit at the waist and the legs.  Especially when you lift their legs up, you don't want to see any gaps.

HTH.  Sure someone else could probably give better advise as I am fairly new to this, too!

  • Yeah I think I might need a medium too. She's short and chubby :)

  • I'd try it. You can definitely fold the rise down. I have a soaker for DS that's a little big. The legs aren't snug and I fold the rise down. I've never had any leaks. I mostly use it for backyard play. If your fitted or prefold is totally soaked you would likely have problems.
