Trying to Get Pregnant

PG Test Preferences

Hey ladies. Do any of you have a brand of test that works better or are all tests the same? I bought some this weekend because I've been nauseated for a week and my period is about a week late, but when I took one this morning it said negative. Just seeing if any of you have suggestions.

 Thanks!!

Re: PG Test Preferences

  • The test is likely not the issue. Unless you're charting, you don't know for sure you're late. You probably ovulated late. Test weekly until you get a positive or your period. We recommend charting through fertilityfriend.com and reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. There's also a helpful newbie link with a lot of information.

Do you know when you ovulated? You could have ovulated late and your period isn't really late.  If you truly are a week late - any pregnancy test should pick up a positive result if you were pregnant.

Just because the test was negative, doesn't mean it wasn't working. It was perfectly fine, you're just not pregnant.

Keep testing once a week until you get AF, get a BFP, or reach 60 days. Then, call your doctor.

Until then, read up on charting (go to fertilityfriend.com) to learn about how your body works and how to detect ovulation.

This.  I'm curious to know how you know that you are late...

  • Hello! I prefer the tests that tell me "pregnant" or "not pregnant" rather than the line tests. I hate taking those line tests because I find myself second guessing myself and saying "omg! I think that is a line!! Wait.....maybe it's not." haha I just like a clear yes or no.

Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!

Yes I've seen lots of negative tests, and they were all correct!
