My DD has never been much of a sleeper, ( shes 4 ) but the past year shes been going to bed at her bed time ( 9 ) and waking about 9-10 oclock. The past few weeks shes going to bed at her bedtime ( sometimes a little later depending on the days events) and waking early and earlier, 7 -8 o clock. A couple nights she was waking at 4 am, putting in a movie and watching it until she fell back asleep. I was just wondering if anyone else was going through this with there children, or if it could possibly be the changing of me being 6 mos pg.
Re: Not normally here, but looking for advice.....
If she was sleeping 9-9/10 and now 9-7/8, the amount of sleep seems normal and age-appropriate to me, as kids need less sleep as they get older.
I guess I don't really see how she's a bad sleeper, except for occasionally waking up and watching movies in the middle of the night, in which case I'd suggest taking the TV out of her room (but I don't agree with TVs in kids' rooms anyway).
WOW! By the time she wakes up (10) eats breakfast and such, most of the morning is shot. You must be having lunch around 1 or so and if she lays down for a nap than there goes her afternoon/early evening as well. My suggestion(if you want it) is to make everything earlier, cause come Kindergarten she will have to wake by 7 to get ready and that means going to bed sooner. IMO it just seems like she is sleeping a lot and not having alot of time to play, explore and spend time with you.
It may be a function of the sun coming up earlier.
We 100% black out their windows when summer gets here or they wake up a bit earlier every single day.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
She hasnt napped since she was probably two years old. right now she goes the preschool from 12-4
