weekend destination rave

Yes, rave.

We took the kids to Niagra Falls this weekend and had an absolute blast.  Stayed at an older-school motel with our 2 room suite (lol) overlooking the atrium/pool area.

We walked everywhere (we really covered a great deal of real estate especially considering we have a 2 year old).  The storefronts are so interactive and amusing/scary; characters for theme events inside some places (DS1 got to meet Darth Vader), fireworks one night, the falls are really incredible, we did an indoor water park for half a day and the whole trip was pretty much on the cheap.

The kids loved it.

I'm actually planning on going back, which is very rare for me.

  • I took the kids there and had a great time. We didn't stay there, but we were on the American side which is pretty gross IMO.

  • Were you on the US side or Canadian side?  I'd love to take my girls to Niagra Falls.  I'll probably save it for when the youngest is a little older.

  • Canadian side.  Two main touristy areas within walking distance of each other.  We stayed in the Clifton Hills area near the old casino.  My nearly 4 year old loved it, totally.  My nearly 2.5 year old was a little overwhelmed, I admit.

  • I'd love to take my kids there sometime, but I haven't gotten around to getting passports yet  :(  We went to Canada all the time as kids and it annoys me that you need a passport now.
