I don't mind baby/wedding showers, but past the 3 hour point....

and I start getting restless.

Went to a baby shower today for DH's cousin's wife. She's very nice, I am excited for them, and I don't mind showers; it's a fun chance to buy baby stuff and not have to take care of a new baby. : ) But.... I showed up at the appointed time, and at least 6 people wandered in up to 30 minutes late, so nothing started until 45 minutes in.

It's a petty vent, but I just had to get it out.

  • Totally agree!!  3 hours is about my max too.

  • It's rude to the guests who showed up on time to wait. sorry. :(

  • were you and I at the same shower? the shower started at 2, I think they got things started around 3 and even after that people were starting to show up. I was gone by 5 and she had barely started opening gifts. about 1/2 of the people were gone by then too, she kept disappearing, no one knew where she went!
  • That is why I eat before I go to a shower. You never know when they are going to serve the food--before gifts or after?

And I TOTALLY loathe when they pass around gifts.
