How to get more consignors for consignment sale?

Hi ladies,

My church is attempting to do our first ever children's consignment sale.  We are having trouble getting consignors to sign up--I don't think we're advertising in the right places.  We have a posting on craigslist, a listing on our-kids.com website and have posted flyers a couple of places in addition to handing out flyers to parents of our preschool.  Any other ideas of where to advertise or how to recruit more consignors--or has anyone been involved in organizing one of these before that has some tips?

If any are interested in more info--it will be in Woodbridge, VA--June 4th, 2011.  Here's our site:

  • You might want to offer the possibility for drop-off donations, too.  Better yet, offer to pick them up within a certain radius of the church.

Some people just won't want to deal with pricing, etc.

  • Loading the player...
  • I would think you might want to reach parents with slightly older children (like elementary school age).  I know myself, it will probably be a few years after I finish having children before I get rid of all the baby things just in case I will still need it down the road.
