New here but in need of advice ASAP

Hi! I normally post on the bf, cd'ing & 3-6 mos board regarding but ds but need advice about dd, who is 3 1/2. This morning she woke up fine, then with in an hour was acting weird & complaining of being really cold. She looked flushed so we took her temp 100.2. 1 hour later she said she felt sick & she was burning up to touch, temp 102.6 so we gave her a luke warm bath & she fell asleep. an hour later she was 103 so I gave her tylenol, after 2 hours she was 100.7 (4pm). At pm (4 hours after tylenol) she is 103.7 temporally & 103.6 orally. All she wants to do is sleep, she is drinking some, denies any pain...do I to call her pedi or worry? She is sound asleep right now, should I just give heer more tylenol when she wakes up & see how she is tomorrow? At what temp do I need to get concerned? Thank you

Re: New here but in need of advice ASAP

  • Temps go up on kids in the evening for some reason. I would keep an eye on it and keep giving her tylenal. You might even want to try Motrin. I believe its 105 when u need to worry but if you need that reassurance call your pedi. My son who is 3.5 had something similar probably about 6 months ago.

  • Thanks. I will just keep watching her. I forgot about the rising temp at night thing.

  • Does her doctors office have an after hours number you can call to talk to a nurse for advice?  I know we do and it's come in handy numerous times.  I would try that to get some peace of mind.

  • You can alternate Tylenol & Motrin every 3 hours I believe (but don't quote me I'm in my 3rd tri and baby ate my brain some days).  If it gets up in 103 again I'd likely take her into an urgent care.
