went to dinner with my mom & aunt's last night. started talking about my baby's name and how much they love it. so we got onto the subject of names. They told me the story of a woman with multiple children, well when she finally decided she had had enough, she figured the baby's name should reflect so. So she named him.... DeLast. as in, this is "the (de) last baby i'm having"

 

sounds like La-a but i swear i'm not making it up...i'm not that clever.

I'm sure you're not making it up, but it doesn't mean they weren't repeating an urban legend.  It sounds too good to be true.

my initial thoughts as well. but we're from a small city. my mom & aunts grew up with his mom & have actually met the poor little guy.

My mom's cousin did something similar.  Her youngest son is Jose Serafin.  Sera fin as in "It's done".  At least that's how she explained it to us.
