Sorry for being a Post W**** today.
But I applied for a better job at my current company in a different area. Well I just got an interview for the position, which is next Friday. The dept. where I will be going has no idea I'm pregnant, doesn't even know who I am.
So do I address the pregnancy issue in the interview since there is obviously no way of hiding this belly? I plan to return to work after LO arrives and really feel this job is the next step in advancing my career, so much so that I would even be willing to return to work a little sooner than I had planned if helped me to get the job, as in maybe 4-5 weeks instead of 6-7 as I have planned.
If you do think I should bring it up, should I just say something at the end of the interview when its time for me to ask questions?
Re: Job Interview at 31 Weeks...
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

This intrigued me .. so I looked it up.
Legally they cannot ask you if you're married, have kids, or comment on future or current pregnancies. However, in many interviews (especially more conversational-based ones) it can and will come up organically, it is still within your right whether or not you'd like to answer it. They also cannot ask you about day care, however they can and will ask you what your long-term plans are regarding your career, at which point if you feel you should do so this would be when it would be appropriate to work in how the new baby will not be an issue in your new position.
This is a general legality statement, not sure if it is more or less strict in specific states.
I think it would be pretty ballsy of them to ask about your pregnancy. Obviously you're there because you want the job and are going to make it work. Otherwise you probably wouldn't be going to the interview!
Good luck!
I changed jobs during my 14th week of pregnancy. I brought it up to my potential boss to let him know because I wouldn't feel right going into a new job and department and not letting them know about that.
Your case is a little different because you are already showing and legally, they can't discriminate against you because you are pregnant. You should probably wait for them to say something about it but it shows at least a little planning if you do go in with a plan or at least tell them you are willing to take less leave if you were able to get the job. Good luck with the interview!!
