F/U to my Army Leave post

1SG APPROVED THE LEAVE!!!!!

I'm so relieved!!! Yesterday I was able to talk to 1SG's wife (she is the FRG Leader and I am a Key Caller, so we've worked together for FRG stuff) and I explained what happened and asked what was the proper (see: respectful) way to ask for a meeting with 1SG. She said she would speak with him when he got home from work and that he would probably get in touch with me.

This morning at formation he asked to speak with DH. He said "You know what the problem is right?" My husband said "no" because we honestly didn't. He said "You're trying to take leave next week and you just submitted your packet three days ago." WHAT?!?!?! DH put the paperwork in three weeks ago!!! So SSG (the one who informed DH that leave was denied) was called in, they all looked at the paperwork and basically 1SG said that DH didn't mess up, that he did everything right, and that SSG dropped the ball getting the packet to him. So he said "SGT M****, you're good to go. Enjoy your leave."

YEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited!!! Thank you Ladies for all your kind words and support!!! I'm just so glad that it has worked out!!!

WOO HOO!!! I am so glad you got this cleared up because it seemed like bunk! Plus, did SSG get in trouble for making those awful comments to your DH? It would be so hard for me not to say, "andplusalso 1SG, SSG was a total d!ck to DH over this whole thing!" But I know you don't want to rock the military boat! That is awesome news! Bring on the birthday celebration.
